The Sun enters Scorpio at its very threshold, and Venus arrives alongside it—two planets meeting at the degree of new beginning, charging this threshold with intensity and magnetism. Mercury is already deep in Scorpio's investigative waters at 20 degrees, sifting through what's hidden, what's unsaid, what requires honest naming. Meanwhile, the Moon in Aries burns bright in a waxing gibbous phase, that pregnant moment before fullness when energy peaks and urgency sharpens. This is a day of crossing over, of moving from the lighter territories into something more penetrating, more real.
The Sun sits at the edge of Libra, nearly ready to cross into Scorpio's territory, and the Moon is waxing gibbous in Pisces—that luminous phase where we are three-quarters full and beginning to see the consequences of what we set in motion two weeks ago. Mercury and Venus are both in Scorpio now, moving through the sign of depth and intensity, which means your words carry weight and your desires run deep. This is not a day for surface-level conversation or casual commitment. The Pisces Moon softens the edges, yes, but it also blurs them—so pay attention to what you feel underneath what you think you're saying.
Mercury is deep in Scorpio now, moving through the sign of probing questions and hidden motives, and it's creating a particular intensity around communication. The Moon sits in Pisces at 6 degrees, waxing gibbous—the phase just before fullness where we're building toward clarity, toward seeing what's been brewing beneath the surface. Venus in early Scorpio adds magnetism but also a kind of magnetic pull toward complexity, toward what's hidden or forbidden. The Sun in late Libra is still seeking balance, still trying to weigh both sides, but everything else in the sky is pushing deeper.
Mercury and Venus move together through Scorpio's depths, asking you to speak what is true even when it costs something. The Sun sits at 27 degrees Libra, nearly ready to slip into Scorpio's territory, and already the light is shifting from the bright weighing of scales to something darker and more necessary. A waxing gibbous Moon in Aquarius pulls upward toward fullness, illuminating the gap between what you think you should want and what you actually crave. This is a moment of clarification, not yet resolution.
The Moon is building toward fullness in Aquarius, and Mercury in Scorpio is pushing you to ask harder questions, dig deeper, speak more truthfully. There's a quality of interrogation in the air—not hostility, but genuine investigation. Venus sits in the shadowy waters of Scorpio too, making attraction and desire more complex, more magnetic, less concerned with surface pleasantness. Meanwhile Mars and Jupiter both occupy Leo, a fire sign placement that wants visibility, wants to matter, wants to take up space. The tension between Scorpio's whisper and Leo's roar creates an interesting friction.
The Moon sits at the threshold of Capricorn, nearly full and in its first quarter phase—a moment of genuine tension between what we thought we wanted and what reality is now showing us. This is the halfway point in the lunar cycle that began at the New Moon, and it arrives with Mercury in Scorpio speaking plainly about things we've been avoiding. Venus is moving through Scorpio too, which means our desires are getting stripped down to their essentials: less performance, more truth. The light is changing, and so are we.
The week of October 19 to 25, 2026 arrives charged with Plutonian intensity, as the recently stationed dwarf planet continues its powerful standstill influence in the sky.
The Capricorn Moon hits its first quarter phase, demanding that you choose. A quarter Moon is always a fork in the road—you've had nearly two weeks to sit with what you want, and now the universe (or your own nervous system, which amounts to the same thing) is asking you to commit to the path or abandon it. Mercury in Scorpio sharpens your thinking, cutting through the noise. Venus also in Scorpio intensifies your desire for what is real, what endures, what cuts to the bone. The Sun in Libra still whispers for balance and beauty, but the emotional weight of the day pulls you toward something darker, deeper, more necessary.
This week carries the weight of endings and beginnings stacked on top of each other. The Sun is still in late Libra, holding the scales steady, but Mercury and Venus are already deep in Scorpio—pressing us toward depth, intensity, and the truths we've been polite enough to avoid. The Moon moves from Capricorn through Aquarius and into Pisces before it meets Aries by week's end, pulling us through the rational, the visionary, the intuitive, and finally the bold. We're not staying anywhere long. This is a week of transit, of passage, of things moving underneath the surface while we maintain our composure on top of it.
Mercury moves through Scorpio with Venus close beside it, both diving deep into what we've been reluctant to examine. The Sun sits at 23° Libra, still searching for balance, but the Moon—just past its first quarter in Capricorn—pulls us toward hard truths and structural reckoning. There's tension between the Sun's diplomatic reach and the Moon's no-nonsense demand for reality. You can feel it as a pull between wanting to keep things pleasant and needing to acknowledge what's actually broken.
The Moon builds in Sagittarius, a waxing crescent that pulls us toward possibility and the edge of what we haven't yet articulated. Mercury sits in Scorpio, sharp and searching, asking questions that cut past surface pleasantries—and Venus, also in Scorpio, deepens the undertow, drawing us toward what's real beneath the polite. This is a day when small talk feels impossible, when you notice the difference between what people say and what they actually mean. The Sun in Libra still reaches for balance, but the planets beneath are insisting on honesty.
The Moon races through Sagittarius, spreading that expansive fire-sign restlessness through the morning air. A waxing crescent — just past the New Moon — means we're building toward something, though we might not yet know its shape. Mercury sits deep in Scorpio, making our words more deliberate, more weighted. Venus has moved into Scorpio too, pulling our desires downward into intensity and secrecy. The Sun holds steady in Libra, asking for balance, but the rest of the sky is pushing us toward the darker, deeper truths we've been dancing around. This is a day of contradictions: the brightness of Libran fairness against the magnetism of Scorpionic shadow.
The Moon sits at the very edge of Scorpio, nearly at the threshold of Sagittarius, and it's waxing — building toward something. Mercury and Venus are both in Scorpio too, crowding into that fixed water sign where things get examined closely, questioned, stripped down to what's real. Meanwhile, the Sun in Libra is asking for balance, for perspective, for fairness — but Scorpio doesn't do surface-level. These two energies are in conversation, and that conversation feels intimate. You might notice people speaking more directly about what matters. Vulnerabilities are showing. The air feels charged with something unspoken finally moving toward words.
Mercury and Venus are both moving through Scorpio, diving deep into what we usually keep private. The Moon, still in its waxing crescent phase, sits alongside them in Scorpio's territory—close enough to feel everything that's being said and unsaid. This is a moment when surface pleasantries fall away. What you're sensing beneath the small talk is real. There's weight in the air, an undertow pulling conversations toward what actually matters.
The Moon is brand new in Scorpio, and Mercury sits right there with it—both plumbing the depths, asking the questions nobody wants to ask. This is not a morning for small talk. The New Moon is the darkest phase, the seed moment, when nothing is yet visible but everything is possible. It arrives in the sign of transformation and truth-telling, the one that refuses to look away. And Venus, also in Scorpio, is turning your values and desires into something raw and non-negotiable. You are being stripped down to what actually matters.
This week, the cosmos delivers a potent and transformative combination of energies as Pluto stations direct while traveling out of bounds, amplifying its already powerful themes of death, rebirth, and the exposure of hidden truths. Adding creative fire to the mix, the asteroid Pallas Athena aligns with Saturn in Aries and harmonizes with Mars in Leo, inspiring courageous action and strategic thinking in support of social causes. The week invites us to examine where we have given away our personal power, and to take meaningful steps toward reclaiming our sovereignty. Astrologer Pam Younghans guides us through the planetary highlights of October 12 to 18, 2026.
The Sun and Moon both sit in Libra on October 11th, 2026, and they are so close they are nearly one—a New Moon in the sign of balance and choice. This is the moment of zero visibility, when the Moon blocks the Sun's light and we stand in the dark together, preparing for something. Mercury has already crossed into Scorpio's deeper waters, pulling conversation down beneath the surface, asking harder questions. Venus follows Mercury into Scorpio as well, shifting our desires from lightness toward intensity, from the intellectual toward the emotional. We are being pulled inward, and the softness of Libra's first half is giving way to something more probing.
This week opens with a New Moon in Libra, a moment of clean slate and fresh intention. The Sun and Moon both hover around 17–21 degrees of Libra, the sign of balance and relationship, asking what partnerships—with others, with yourself, with your work—need recalibrating. But there's an undertow here that won't let this be a gentle week. Mercury and Venus have both moved into Scorpio, the sign of depth and transformation, pulling our words and values toward what matters most beneath the surface. This is not a week for small talk or surface-level agreements. The cosmos is asking you to mean what you say.
The New Moon in Libra arrives on October 10th, landing at 8° and pulling us into a reset moment. This is the darkest phase of the lunar cycle—the blank page before the narrative begins. The Sun and Moon sit together in the sign of balance and deliberation, asking us to pause before we act, to weigh what matters and what doesn't. Meanwhile, Mercury and Venus have already slipped into Scorpio, moving beneath the surface, asking harder questions. There is a seriousness in the air, a readiness to go deeper.
The Moon sits at 25° Virgo in its early New Moon phase, asking you to pause before you speak. This is a moment of stillness masquerading as ordinary Friday afternoon—a lunar reset that invites you to clear away what no longer serves before moving forward. Meanwhile, the Sun at 15° Libra wants balance and perspective, but Mercury and Venus are both prowling through Scorpio, electrifying every conversation with intensity and depth. There's a pull between Libra's measured weighing of options and Scorpio's desire to cut through to what's real. The tension is real, and it matters.
The Moon sits in the waning crescent phase, moving through Virgo with its face turned inward and its light nearly gone. We are in the dark days before the New Moon, when the sky grows quieter and our own thoughts grow louder. Meanwhile, the Sun in Libra is asking for balance, for the weighing of scales, while Mercury and Venus both press into Scorpio's depths—pulling conversations and feelings toward what is hidden, what matters, what we usually keep beneath the surface. This is a day of sorting through what we actually feel beneath what we say we feel.
