The week of September 7 to 13, 2026 pulses with extraordinary cosmic intensity as Uranus stations retrograde in Gemini, amplifying feelings of anticipation, restlessness, and the potential for sudden breakthroughs. A powerful Virgo New Moon on Thursday the 10th opens a fresh lunar cycle—the first in six weeks free of eclipse energy—inviting us to channel deep emotional currents toward purposeful, grounded action. Venus moves into Scorpio while Mercury enters Libra, shifting the relational atmosphere toward greater intimacy, honesty, and a desire for meaningful connection. With the fixed star Prima Hyadum in play and a week rich in planetary shifts, this is a time to cultivate emotional intelligence and trust the wisdom that arises from navigating powerful inner waters.
This Week's Astrological Overview:
- Uranus reaches peak intensity as it stations retrograde at 05°42' Gemini, activating the emotionally charged fixed star Prima Hyadum and calling us toward mindfulness and self-mastery.
- The Virgo New Moon on September 10 begins a fresh lunar cycle energized by a sextile to Mars in Cancer—think protective courage rather than passive caretaking.
- Venus enters Scorpio and Mercury enters Libra on the same day, transforming our approach to relationships, communication, and decision-making for weeks to come.
- A Mercury-rich weekend brings trines to Sedna, Pluto, and Uranus alongside an opposition to Neptune, sparking truth-seeking conversations and flashes of intuitive insight.
- The week's overarching theme asks us to rise to the challenge of powerful emotions, support one another through turbulent waters, and open our minds to higher-frequency possibilities.

URANUS AT FULL VOLUME: The vibrational volume of high-frequency Uranus is at peak levels this week and throughout the first three weeks of September, due to being at a virtual standstill in the heavens (from Earth's perspective). The sideways-spinning planet will station retrograde this coming Thursday at 05°42' Gemini, but it is within two arc minutes of that degree from September 2 to 20.
A heightened sense of anticipation, nervousness, or even anxiety can feel like our constant companions in these days. It can be helpful to remember that our bodies feel both excitement and fear in the same way—it is our minds that decide whether to associate the feelings with either positive or negative potentials.
That being said, Uranus is known for its excitable nature and for manifesting through strange, unexpected, or life-changing events. On the physical plane, increased volcanic and seismic activity can accompany highly Uranian times. On a mental level, it is common to feel scattered or a bit frayed at the edges—especially with the planet now in airy Gemini, which rules the rational mind and the nervous system.
In its higher octave, Uranus is the planet of Higher Consciousness and Divine Mind. Thus, we can consider its ability to disrupt "life as usual" to be instrumental in opening our minds to new ideas and even high-level information. Intuition and channeling skills can be enhanced under Uranus' influence.
EMOTIONAL IMPACT: When Uranus stations this week, it strongly activates the fixed star Prima Hyadum (Gamma Tauri), located at about 06° Gemini. This star is known as the bringer of torrential rains, both physically and emotionally. Astrologer Roderick Kidston explains this effect in his book The Magic of the Stars:
"The waterworks of Prima Hyadum can manifest in strong emotions, sometimes eruptions of turmoil or rage. The star offers the challenge and the opportunity to understand and cultivate emotional intelligence. Life is much easier for people who work on themselves rather than barreling through life chaotically, wondering why it keeps going wrong.
"But Prima Hyadum yields great gifts to those who are willing to rise to its challenges. The test is not to over-react to the passions that surge forth. If you are willing to do some serious mindfulness meditation, for example, you can get a handle on your emotions in a whole new skillful way. With this reorganization comes a special kind of mastery, and self-mastery is the ultimate gift of this potent star."
VIRGO NEW MOON: September 10, the day that Uranus stations, is also the start of a new lunar cycle, and the first lunation in six weeks that is NOT an eclipse. The New Moon occurs at 8:26 p.m. PDT, when the two luminaries conjoin at 18°25' Virgo.
Opportunities for productive action can be engaged as the new lunar cycle begins, provided by a close sextile between the New Moon and Mars in Cancer. With the assertive Red Planet in the sign associated with motherhood, the imagination stirs up images not of a docile caregiver, but of a mother bear who courageously protects her young.
The other significant component of the lunation chart is a challenging sesquiquadrate aspect between the New Moon and Pluto. This aspect is another revelatory influence, exposing more of what has been hidden in darkness and challenging us to purge what is toxic on many levels.
Coincidentally, the Sabian symbol for the degree of the New Moon repeats the watery theme brought forward by the fixed star Prima Hyadum. The symbol reads: "A swimming race; the stimulation that comes from a group effort toward a spiritual goal." Perhaps it is in the navigating of powerful emotions—and also in supporting each other through these deep waters—that we now make the most progress toward achieving our higher aspirations for humanity.

DAILY ASPECTS THIS WEEK (September 7 to 13, 2026):
Monday
Mars semisquare Sedna: Some may easily become defensive today, either withdrawing or attacking due to deep emotional issues being triggered.
Sun sesquiquadrate Chiron: We could be overly critical of self or default to the blame game if we are not aware of our own need for healing.
Mercury quincunx Eris: People may be argumentative and resistant to alternative solutions.
Tuesday
No major aspects are exact today.
Wednesday
Venus trine North Node: We find it easier to be accepting of differences with this aspect. Friendships and group connections are supported, especially those that have shared values or are working for a common cause.
Thursday
Venus enters Scorpio: While Venus is in the sign of the Scorpion and the Eagle, superficial interactions are unsatisfactory and we are drawn to relationships that are profound, honest, and intimate. Divulging deep secrets to a loved one may enhance intimacy but could also bring trust issues to the surface, due to feelings of exposure. Dramatic emotions such as jealousy and possessiveness, or a need to maintain power or control, could play a role in partnerships, whether personal or business. Venus' journey through Scorpio comes in two stages, due to going retrograde on October 3. This first phase lasts from September 10 to October 25.
Mercury enters Libra: While Mercury is in Libra, from September 10 to 30, we are more able to see all sides of a situation and are motivated by a desire for harmony and cooperation. These qualities are helpful for negotiations, but can also make decision-making challenging due to endless vacillation or an over-dependence on input from others.
Venus opposite Chiron: Trust issues that arise today, perhaps in the form of jealousy or possessiveness, are likely based on a deep fear of loss.
Uranus stations retrograde: Uranus comes to a standstill at 11:27 a.m. PDT today. The sideways-spinning planet will be retrograde from September 10, 2026, to February 8, 2027.
Mercury quincunx Chiron and semisquare Jupiter: Communications are uncomfortable today. A desire to be heard can lead to over-explanations or not having the patience to listen to another.
Sun sesquiquadrate Pluto: It is tempting to try to manipulate a situation, perhaps through criticism or fault-finding.
New Moon: A new lunar cycle begins when the Sun and Moon align at 8:26 p.m. PDT, with both luminaries at 18°25' Virgo.
Friday–Saturday
Mercury trine Sedna, trine Pluto, and opposite Neptune: A desire to know the truth of a situation drives intense conversations on these two days. However, some may be uncomfortable with sharing on a deep emotional level, inhibiting their ability to be fully honest and giving mixed signals.
Saturday
Mars semisquare Uranus: A strong restlessness and a need to be true to self inspires courageous decisions. An inner rebelliousness can lead to impulsive actions.
Sunday
Mercury trine Uranus: The mind is insightful and intuitive. New ideas offer solutions that had not been obvious before.

If Your Birthday Is This Week (September 7 to 13, 2026):
The courage of your convictions and the desire to make effective change are strong this year, inspiring assertive and independent action. Some of the motivation to act is likely to arrive through feeling disempowered in some area of your life or in observing the imbalance of resources in the world. As a result of your efforts, you emerge feeling more personally empowered and in charge of your life. (Solar Return Sun sextile Mars, sesquiquadrate Pluto)
